VALUE CONTRACT LIST
Now that we have been together for over five weeks, we should have a good feel for where we want to go as a class and what we want to accomplish. It is now time for us to put together our value contract, so that we have on paper the standards we plan to live by and hold each other to. You are to list two traits or characteristics that you deem necessary for individuals in a teambuilding, cooperative group to exhibit in order for the group to thrive. After listing your traits, please give a breif explanation or description of each so that we all know why you feel they are important.

listening skills and cooperation
I think that these two traits are important because in order for us to work as a team, we all need to be able to hear each other out and listen to the different ideas that anyone of us might have. This could help us work more efficiently and have better results. We also should be able to cooperate with each other because without that, we won't be able to accomplish anything because we are not willing to work together. We will need to listen to everyone's ideas and try to combine them in a way that will involve everyone. I think that with great listening skills and cooperation, we can accomplish any task that is given to us.
My top two characteristics are tolerance and cooperation.
Something that is very important to me in a team setting is tolerance. I've been playing team sports my whole life, and I find that as far as team functionality goes, tolerance is huge. If two teammates have any sort of bad blood or aversion between the two, it divides the team and things start to fall apart.
That's why I feel it is important to understand other's opinions/ideas/values, whether or not you agree with them. We aren't all going to agree with one another, but we all have to be tolerant and accepting of others in the most respectful way possible.
As far as cooperation goes, if we can't work together, we will fail. Guaranteed. Every single person has to know what's going on and have some sort of role in the task. Not everyone can be a leader, and not everyone will be a leader in our team dynamic. Regardless, we all have to have some sort of job/role in the task we are trying to acheive.
Acceptance and Communication
Acceptance is the first trait I thought of because without it no one will feel comfortable expressing themselves in the group and if the group can't accept each other, how are they suppose to accept failure? I chose communication because it covers a both listening and sharing your ideas (which is part of acceptance in a way).By listening to everyones ideas, we can perform a task more successfully.

Trust and patience i think are important traits because you need to be able to trust each other and feel comfortable enough to get out of your comfort zone to really succeed and obtain that team feeling. Also, patience is important because some activities may take a while or different attempts to complete it and you need to have patience to be able to accomplish the tasks.
Trial and error. we cant just babble on about some idea that has a chance of working. we need to try our ideas, in order to see how we can improve them, and actually accomplish said task. we need to fail, yes, oh no why would we do that? if we never fail at trying an idea, we never learn for our mistakes. but this really only applys for team building, not up on a mountain and oops, dropped the rope, if were trying to fit on a block, we need to have trials and errors in order to fully succeed.
Trust an caring- because if we can't all trust eachother we aren't going to go anywhere we have to trust that we will all have eachothers backs, literally. If someone isnt a trusting person I'm not going to want that person to be behind me when I'm climbing or something. And caring is my second word because you always have to be a caring person no matter what. It doesn't hurt to be nice to everyone. Sometimes somebody just needs someone there for them. And we should all be there for eachother.
Communication and listening.
These go hand in hand, we need to have the skill to expess diffrent ideas and plans, but we also need to be able to listen to all of them and figure something out. Every one can be talking and "communicating" with one another but if no one ever listens to each other, nothing is going to get done. these are two traits that would be very important.
Listening and respect. In many cases, there are multiple ways to get a task done. You are not always right. Other people will have ideas and you must listen to them. Everyone has a right to an opinion and everyone no matter what should listen to what others say. Also, respect. A very general term. We need to respect our classmates. When we go agaisnt othet classmates we still need to be respectful. No saying mean things or putting others down especialy if there is a winning team or losing team. No bragging or disrespect. Some words really hurt people. As a class we need to listen and respect everyone.
patience and listening. these two go hand in hand because you cant have one without the other. so lets say were working on a problem and we aren't getting any where towards a solution we have to have patience while we listen to others input that way we can produce a solution in a faster amount of time with a good amount of cooperation.
Respect and participation. Both of these are great together. I believe that those should be treated the way you wan't to be treated. Also, participation is crucial. It is hard to complete a group task when members of the group are not participating.
Cooperation and participation.
Cooperation is important especially to our class because we are working in some sort of group almost all of class. We rely so much on the other people in our class and we expect them to cooperate with us but that means that we also have to cooperate. Cooperation means working together for a common purpose. That means we need to respect each other so we can reach that common goal.
The other thing we need it participation. If people are sitting around, not trying to include themselves in an activity, the group will suffer as a whole. People not participation are just dead weight to the group and drag everyone down.If everyone gives all of our activities their all, then we will accomplish our goals. Also, it's the only way we can expect to get something from this class.
Respect and listening. The two go hand in hand. When you respect someone you are more likely to gain respect, when you don't respect someone you can expect them to respect you. Listening will also help you learn new ways to work out problems. When you don't listen you may miss crucial information.
Cooperation and communication. Because those are probably two most important traits which are important in what we do.
Being a team requires cooperation and working together ,because it is a team work not a single partner work. Helping others and working with other will make team work much better. Communication on the other hand will help make cooperation better and make the atmosphere between team members better.
Respect and Patience are my two. A person needs to respect others and listen to what they have to say. Also, they can't just deny other people's ideas even if they don't agree. Respect other as to not start any fights over disagreements. Fights would only be detrimental to the group as a whole. Patience is needed also. If an idea doesn't work, getting frustrated will not help the group any. Patience is key to completing a lot of things. if you think calmly and efficiently, things come easier.
Patience and cooperation would probably be my two characteristics. Patience is very important because when doing activities, it might take a while for everyone to finish or to complete a task, in which case the group can't get impatient. Another way for patience is when everyone voices ideas or the group tries ideas that don't always work, we must stay patient with one another and keep trying to complete whatever it is that needs to get done. As well, i think cooperation is big, although its very loaded in the sense that a lot is required for cooperation, including communication, responsibility, patience, and other stuff. Without cooperation, though, a group will take exponentially longer to complete a task when everyone can't seem to get their heads together and everything is very disorganized. Patience and cooperation are two big things that help to lead groups to success.
Communication and listening. Communication is important because everyone needs some way to get their opinions across. With communication everyone can speak their mind and share their thoughts. Listening is important because when others speak you want to know what they are saying because you might even agree with them. It's always polite to listen to others and by showing them that you listen to what they have to say, they will do the same for you.
Cooperation and communication. Cooperation is vital because in order for the entire group to be successful, we all need to play a part and work together. I think that even though there are some people will be leaders, everyone needs to listen to each other and really come together to work on a given task. Communication is important because without this skill, everything basically falls apart. If there is no communication, then everyone will be doing their own thing, maybe not looking out for others or not paying attention, and maybe not understanding what exactly they are expected to do. They will not understand what their role entails within the group. Communication is key so we convey our messages, whether it is to get a task accomplished or get someone out of trouble.
respect & responsibility
I think respect involves a lot of things. It incorporates being patient with one another, listening to eachother, participating as a valuable team member, and being kind and understand through not only our words, but our actions.
I mention responsibility because, like respect, I think it requires a certain level of maturity. I believe we all have a responsibility to eachother. We are probably all looking to get different things out of this class, and it is important to be concious and supportive of this fact. It is clearly not a class for the individual, and I believe it is our responsibility to recognize this.
Respect and communication are two important traits to have. Respect because you have to make sure everyone is safe, and to always have empathy for everyone, and to take caution for yourself & other people. Also communication is key because if you don't communicate, then you can easily mess up your plan, or not get the right idea through to people.
Understanding and Honesty.
We should have understanding for each other's fear and concens if we are to succeed as a class. we should put ourselves into others' shoes to fully understand what struggles they may be facing. If we can do that instead of ignoring the fears and struggles of each other, then we will be successful and we will all share the sense of accomplishment that one person felt. Also, honesty is an important value our class should have. If something is not working out or someone is not doing something in a correct way, then we need to speak up and be honest about it. We have to have an open mind about this honesty though. We don't have to attack each othe, just constructively criticize. If we are honest with each other and ourselves, then we will enjoy our successes even more and we can change our shortcomings in order to succeed next time.
Participation and Patience
In order for our group to be able to work as a cohesive unit, we have to have these two qualities. The activities that we do require a lot of failure in order to achieve success. When he have these failures, we need to be patient and not allow ourselves to get frustrated with the task or with each other. When pople are offering ideas, we also need to be patient and listen to them, even if we have our own thoughts on how to accomplish our goal because it's vital that every voice gets heard. Since the end goal for our class is to be able to work together, help each other, and accomplish the difficult tasks we are given, we all need to be growing as a group, and the only way for everyone to have this growth is if everyone participates. Not everyone needs to be a leader, but we all need to focus on the task and make sure that we are giving an honest effort, and that if we have a good idea, that we speak up and share it.
Cooperation and communication. Because those are probably two most important traits in group projects. Being a team requires for everyone to get along and know how to work together.
Good manners and acceptance. After we have both of those, everything else will follow in suit. Good manners are essential because or else we don't have guidelines by with to cooperate. We need to listen when others are speaking and help when it seems help is necessary. These all fall under the category of good manners. Regardless of how well mannered someone is, acceptance also plays a key role. Without it we will go through the class judging more than we ever should. These are two traits I believe should go in the contract.
positive attitude and understandment.
whenever a activity is introduced to us you should have a positive attitude, or if you feel like you're not capable of doing this activity you should remain positive. a negative attitude does nothing and gets you nowhere. a big part of this class is getting to know eachother and hear our perspective on things. so to be understanding to someone and to see where they come from is a good trait.
Cooperation and Patience
These are the most important characteristics needed for this class. We need to cooperate with each other in order to complete the challenges we are faced with. It is necessary to have patience because everyone is not at the same skill level.
Patience and communication are important traits. In our group we need patience because there may be some activities where we can't rush through it, if we want it done properly. We also need good communication, otherwise we can't address the skills given in the right way.
communication and patience
these traits are important because the team building activities can become frustrating at times. Its key to remain patient and really listen to everyones ideas while talking through what might work and what wont. If everyone has patience, people wont become frustrated and give up. Instead, everyone will work together effectively and be able to communicate their ideas easier.
I think the two most important traits are Communication and trust. Communication is important because we need to talk to each other but also listen. Part of communication is listening.Trust is also important. Without trust, we won't be able to do something to our full potential. We need to learn how to trust not only everyone in the class but our selves.
Open-Minded and Patient
Walking into the challenges with an open mind will allow for different thoughts and ideas to be thrown around. Often, we automatically dismiss certain thoughts because they seem too hard, or because we're not personally comfortable with them. However, if we don't give them a chance, there is no real way of knowing whether they are beneficial or not. I think that if we are willing to take everyone's ideas into consideration, it will help us thrive in our team building activities. In addition to this, we must be patient. Not every single idea thrown out there will prove itself successful. It is important that we remember this because we are going to become frustrated when we don't succeed right away.
I'm going with Respect and Communication. These two traits, although different, work well together. It is extremely important to be respectful of the people we are working with, especially in a situation that involves as much trust as this class does. I also think that communication is also very important because without it nothing would ever get done. No ideas would ever be shared and nothing that requires more than one person would ever be accomplished. Ideas need to be shared and recieved in a way that is respectful to allow the group to reach its full potential.

patience and communication
those are both really important things to remember when your working as a team or a group. when working as a team you will always have to communicate with eachother no matter what we have to find ways to get ideas and thoughts across to everyone with a system of communication. patience is also a big one when were all working together to get one task done we have to be understanding that were not the only ones in the group everyone is going to have to be understanding and be patient cause not all of us think the same way
I think the two traits you need to have are communication and being open-minded. I feel that communications is very important because if you don't have any communication between people, you will never be able to accomplish anything and there would be multiple disputes and problems. Also, being open-minded is important because I feel that you must be open-minded in order to be able to listen to others even though you may not agree with him/her.
I think two traits are trust and listening/communication. Trust is a huge trait because we have to trust each others ideas, thoughts and actions. Commmunication is also important because we need to communicate in a civil way for us to work together and we need to learn to communicate in the best manner possible
Cooperation and tolerance.
I feel like these 2 values are very important and in the short time we have been here are problems I have seen from myself and from others. These are two very important traits because to work as a team we need to understand eachother and know that everything we do is for the greater good of the team. When people stop being tolerant to other people they do not feel the need to understand their point of view. This goes hand in hand with cooperation because if you tolerate and respect a persons point of view you will understand why they wouldn't agree with you or want to do something differetly and you will see how that would work for them.
I think the two most important skills would be being open-minded and respectful. Some people's weaknesses may be other people's strengths. The more patience and assistance we have with other students in the class the easier we get along and get tasks done. Also, listening to peoples ideas and trying them out is a key component to class.
